Leak Detection

Why would you want a leak detection done on your pool?

If your inground vinyl liner pool is losing water and you think there is a hole in the liner then give Rustic Pools, Inc. a call.  We have an advanced system for finding holes in liners.  This system is call a Electronic Leak Detector.

Click on the picture bellow to see step by step pictures of a leak detection.

How it works

The rod on the end of the telescopic pole emits a small electric current into the water out of one end.  The electric current runs through the water until it finds a ground.  A hole in the liner acts like a ground.  Electricity always runs to the ground.  The other end of the rod  detects the hole in the liner.  When a hole is found the head set we wear gives off a high pitched ring.

Things to Watch Out For

The only things that might cause problems are all the screws and/or a ladder in the pool.  When the electricity is sent out of the rod it tries to find a ground.  The metal screws and the ladder both go to ground.  The electricity runs to the screws and ladder.  We have ways for working around lights and ladders if they are in the pool.  When the light is covered, and ladder is removed, the electric current goes toward a potential hole in the liner.  The screws around the face plates and steps do go to ground.  The leak detector does ring by the face plates and steps but if there is a hole by them the leak detector does ring at a higher pitch so we can tell the difference.

Tile Cleaning

Ugly Tile?

Do you have a nice backyard and everything looks good except for the tile on your pool.  The water is crystal clear but the tile has ugly build up on it.  Well your in luck.  Rustic Pools has a solution for your problem.  We do tile cleaning!  The tile cleaner takes off that unsightly mess from the tile and make it look like new.

How it works
The first thing we have to do is lower the water level so that the tile is dry and we don't get the tile cleaner hose wet.  The tile cleaner pushes glass beads through a hose at a high speed.  It's basically a sand blaster.  The difference is that the tile cleaner has a pick-up system connected to the hose.  The glass bead being pushed out hits the tile and then is sucked back up by a vacuum hose to be used again so minimal glass bead is lost in the pool.  If any glass bead drops in the pool we take our homemade sweep and clean the pool.
