Rustic Pools, Inc. was established in 1978. The owner, Kenneth ”Micky” Coughlin had been servicing pools since 1973 with visions of building his own quality pools that would be affordable and offer low maintenance costs. Micky realized his dream when he moved to Orangevale to build in-ground vinyl swimming pools. 

By specializing in the construction of only vinyl lined pools, Micky has gained value experience through his research of materials. Early on he had the benefit of hands-on experience with the many types of materials used in construction of vinyl pools. He knew the benefits of vinyl but was concerned with the wall materials and construction that was commonly being used. Wood tended to rot and decay, metal rusted and fiberglass panels were found to bow. Finding these methods unacceptable, Micky continued his research to find the perfect combination of materials that would build affordable pools with structural integrity. 

After years of research, Rustic Pools, Inc. is proud to offer what Micky and his team believe to be the “perfect combination.” Rustic Pools, Inc. is the exclusive builder to combine the durability of gunite wall construction with the beauty and ease of maintenance with a vinyl liner. 

This new concept has features previously unavailable in vinyl lined pools.  Rustic Pools, Inc. is able to install real ceramic waterline tile. The vinyl is installed under the water line to protect it from the harmful ultra-violet sun rays that cause drying, cracking and fading. Unlike other vinyl pool builders that are restricted to basic shapes due to their construction, with gunite walls, the shape is only limited to your imagination.
